Police Blotter: Drug Deal Foiled, Three Westport Teens Arrested

Police reports from Dec. 6-7.

The following arrest information was provided by  the Westport Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

A drug deal gone bad on Dec. 7 led to the arrest of three Westport teens and the seizure of heroin and Oxycodone pills.

According to the report, a patrolling officer saw a vehicle parked in the Baldwin parking lot. The officer noted that the occupants, George Lawrence, 18, of Vista Terrace, and John Hanley, 19, of Imperial Avenue, were acting suspiciously and they were pulled over on Church Lane. The officer said that the two teens gave evasive answers. They were patted down, and the officer found folds of heroin on Hanley. Oxycodone pills were found on Hanley.

As police were investigating, Hanley received a text from Walter Kosner, 19, of Wake Robin Road. He was allegedly looking for drugs, and police officers texted back arrangements to meet. Kosner was arrested when he was arrived.

Both Lawrence and Hanley were charged with possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and sale of a controlled substance. Lawrence's bail was set at $500 and Hanley's was set at $5,000. Kosner was released on a promise to appear in Norwalk Superior Court. All three are scheduled to appear on Dec. 17.

Other Arrests

A domestic dispute on Dec. 6 led to the arrest of a Westport couple. Augustus Pappajohn, 49, of Orchard Hill Road, and Jessica Ryan, 33, of Vani Court, were both charged with disorderly conduct. They were released on a promise to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Dec. 7.

A Westport woman allegedly used her son's credit card and was arrested on charges of illegal use of a credit card and credit card theft. According to the report, Judy Meier, 55, of Hales Court, turned herself in at the Westport Police Department on Dec. 7 after being told there was a warrant for her arrest. She reportedly activated and used a credit card intended for her son, who no longer lives with her, in November. She was released on a promise to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Dec. 17.
