Police Blotter: Man Found Near Coleytown School with Heroin

Police reports from Aug. 25 to Aug. 27.

A Fairfield man was caught with heroin across the street from Coleytown Elementary School on Wednesday afternoon. According to the report, police received a call that Brett Saltus, 49, was driving a pickup truck erratically on Easton Road and pulled into a driveway across the street from the school. Officers found Saltus nearby. A search of the truck revealed several hundred plastic bags used to distribute heroin – some of which were full. Several hypodermic needles were also found. Saltus was charged with possession of narcotics, drug paraphernalia and illegal possession near a school. Bail was set at $10,000 and he is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Sept. 7.

A Stratford woman was arrested for allegedly trying to pawn off stolen goods while accompanied by a child. According to the report, Katrina Lepley, 22, tried selling stolen goods at Sam Sloat Coins on Post Road East in June. She was charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and risk of injury to a child. Her bail was set at $25,000 and she is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Sept. 7

Edward Grey, 43, of Cross Highway, was arrested on Aug. 25 at 7:27 p.m. on two counts of second-degree failure to appear. According to the report, Grey turned himself in after being informed that there were warrants for his arrest issued by Westport and Norwalk police. Grey's bail was set at $5,000 and he is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Sept. 1.

A Norwalk man turned himself in after allegedly robbing a home at Sasco Creek earlier this month. According to the report, Giovanni Biasetti, 30, was wanted for allegedly stealing cash and prescription drugs from a home on Aug. 14. He was in custody at the Norwalk Police Department on unrelated charges when Westport police arrested him. Biasetti was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny. His bail was set at $10,000 and he is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Sept. 7.

Jason Fazekas, 32, of Bridgeport, and Stacy Brady, 28, of Shelton, were arrested on Aug. 27 at 4:31 p.m. on charges of sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit a crime. According to the report, the two were caught shoplifting at CVS on Post Road East. Both were released on a promise to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Sept. 7.
