Police Blotter: Several DUIs on Holiday Weekend

Police reports from Sept. 4-5.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Westport Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

Mila Dantinio, 37, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Sept. 4 at 12:26 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence and failure to drive in the proper lane. According to the report, police saw Dantinio driving northbound on Wilton Road and crossing over the double yellow centerline. She was pulled over and officers detected an odor of alcohol on her breath. She failed field sobriety tests and was arrested. Dantinio's bail was set at $500 and she is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Sept. 13.

Brian Turano, 37, of Bradley Lane, was arrested on Sept. 4 at 2:15 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence and improper parking. According to the report, police saw Turano stopped in his vehicle on Riverside Avenue. It appeared that he was sleeping, reported police. An officer approached the vehicle and detected an odor of alcohol on his breath. Turano failed field sobriety tests and was arrested. His bail was set at $500 and he is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Sept. 13.

Jonathan Lieber, 37, of Cranberry Road, was arrested on Sept. 4 at 2:34 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence, failure to drive right and traveling unreasonably fast. According to the report, Lieber was seen weaving his vehicle within the lane on Partrick Road. The officer clocked Lieber at 40 mph in the 25 mph zone. He was pulled over and the officer detected an odor of alcohol on his breath. He failed field sobriety tests and was arrested. Lieber's bail was set at $500 and he is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Sept. 13.

John Backus, 47, of Davenport Avenue, was arrested on Sept. 5 at 9:33 p.m. on charges of driving under the influence, failure to drive right and operating without a license. According to the report, Backus was seen driving westbound on Charles Street and swerving over the double yellow centerline. He was pulled over and the officer detected an odor of alcohol on his breath. He failed field sobriety tests and was arrested. Backus' bail was set at $260 and he is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Sept. 16.
