Police Blotter: Two Busted for Pot

Police reports from Aug. 23-24.

Louis Defrancesco, 42, of Norwalk, was arrested on Aug. 24 at 12:45 a.m. on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. According to the report, Defrancesco was seen driving suspiciously by police in the Saugatuck area. He was pulled over and the officer detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Later, rolling papers and two marijuana joints were found. Defrancesco was released on promise to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Sept. 1.

Andrew Hernandez, 25, of Trumbull, was arrested on Aug. 24 at 5:06 p.m. on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. According to the report, Hernandez was pulled over on the Sherwood Island Connector for improper display of plates. The officers then detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A marijuana bowl and a baggie containing the substance were found. Hernandez was released on a promise to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Sept. 3.

Victoria Hussain, 24, of Norwalk was arrested on Aug. 23 at 1:20 p.m. on a charge of disorderly conduct. According to the report, Hussain allegedly slapped her boyfriend while he was driving. She was released on a promise to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Aug. 24.

Shawn Stone, 26, of Bridgeport was arrested on Aug. 23 at 4:27 p.m. on three counts of second-degree failure to appear. According to the report, Stone was brought to police headquarters by bail enforcement agents. There were three warrants for his arrest stemming from failing to appear in court unspecified misdemeanors. One was issued by Westport police and the other two by state police. Stone's bail was set at $6,000 and he is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Sept. 2 and in Bridgeport Superior Court on Sept. 3.

Robert Strada, 34, of Darien, was arrested on Aug 24 at 1:27 p.m. on a charge of threatening. According to the report, Strada turned himself in after being told there was a warrant for his arrest. In July, Strada allegedly made a threatening phone call to a Westport woman. Strada's bail was set at $2,500 and he is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Sept. 3.

Shayquan Vega, 22, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Aug. 24 at 4:52 p.m. on several motor vehicle charges and theft of a license plate. According to the report, Vega was pulled over for not displaying a front license plate. A computer check revealed that the rear license plate was stolen. Vega was released on a promise to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Sept. 2.
