Police Bust Wanted Man Following Traffic Stop in Westport

State police had a warrant for the driver’s arrest.

 

Westport police initiated a traffic stop on Post Road East nearby Maple Avenue after spotting an unregistered vehicle, police said.

After identifying the driver, the officer found that there was a warrant for his arrest out of Connecticut State Police Troop A.

Westport police charged Almond Jordan, of Waterbury, with second-degree failure to appear. Jordan posted a $495.00 bond and is due in Waterbury Superior Court August 21.

Police also charged him with illegal operation of a motor vehicle under suspension and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. He posted an additional $500 bond for those charges. He is due in Norwalk Superior Court August 22 for those violations.
