Police Launching Texting-While-Driving Enforcement Effort

It's part of a coordinated campaign involving departments from several towns in the greater Danbury area.

Police are cracking down on texting while driving.

More than seven police departments are launching a week-long enforcement campaign beginning Thursday, March 27, according to a blog post by Denis O'Malley, a reporter for the News-Times.

O'Malley writes that the departments involved are:

  • Newtown
  • Monroe
  • Redding
  • Bethel
  • Ridgefield
  • Danbury
  • Brookfield
Drivers can expect spot-checks during the campaign.
