Police Locate $12,000 in Stolen Property, Arrest Westport Woman

Westport police responded Saturday to Achorn's Pharmacy on a report of a disturbance and found a wanted Westport resident in the process, police said.

Westport police officers initially spotted the stolen property while on an unrelated call. They applied for a warrant, and eventually made an arrest, police said.

Westport police responded Saturday to Achorn's Pharmacy on a report of a disturbance and found a wanted Westport resident in the process, according to an arrest report.

Upon arrival, officer found that 50-year-old Lynn Sclafani, of Westport was one of the parties involved and that she had outstanding warrants for her arrest from the Westport Police Department, police said.

The warrants stem from an incident where officers responded to Sclafani’s residence to attempt to locate a vehicle that may have possibly been there. When the officers arrived they noticed numerous concrete items that matched the description of the items from several larceny complaints, police said.

The arrest warrants were applied for and granted. The total value of the items stolen was approximately $12,000, police said.

Westport police charged Sclafani with third-degree larceny, two counts of fourth-degree lareny, sixth-degree larceny and disordely conduct, police said. 

Sclafani posted a $5000 surety bond and was released. She is due in State Superior Court in Norwalk April 2.
