Police Pursuit Ends With Arrest on I-95 South
The Westport Police Department arrested a Waterbury resident on local and state charges.
While Westport Police Officer Anthony Prezioso was conducting a traffic stop on I-95 South around 7 p.m. Saturday, he observed a late model purple Daewoo pass his patrol car driving dangerously and at a high rate of speed, according to a news release. Prezioso looked up the Daewoo's license plate information and found the car was unregistered.
Prezioso was able to catch up to the Daewoo on I-95 South between exits 18 and 17. When he attempted to pull the car over, the suspect vehicle sped up and drove erratically, according to the release.
The pursuit ended on I-95 around exit 15 because the Daewoo lost control and crashed into the guardrail off the roadway.
