Police: Scooter-Riding Keg Thief Drags Officer

The officer suffered minor injuries, but the alleged thief couldn't evade the law with his scooter.

A police officer was injured after being dragged by a scooter operated by a man who allegedly stole an empty keg.

At 8:45 a.m., Monday, Officer Mark Pocius saw Brian Bresnan, 42, of Norwalk, driving on Ferry Lane with an empty keg allegedly stolen from the . Bresnan reportedly tried driving away while the officer was speaking to him. The officer suffered minor scrapes and injuries after he was dragged, while Bresnan toppled the scooter soon after.

Bresnan was charged with sixth-degree larceny, interfering with an officer and reckless endangerment. Bail was set at $10,000.
