Susanne Gravelle, 39, of Westport, was charged with risk of injury to a child, evading responsibility and failure to drive in the proper lane on Jan. 14 at approximately 11:30 p.m.
According to police, Gravelle drove her vehicle into a stonewall on Greens Farms Road in Westport and then abandoned the vehicle and went home. When officers went to Gravelle’s home she stated that she had went out to get cigarettes and left her two children upstairs sleeping.
Gravelle had fresh bruising and cuts on her face consistent with the motor vehicle accident, according to police. Gravelle was taken to Norwalk Hospital to be treated for her injuries and upon her release was arrested.
Gravelle was released on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Jan. 23.
