Southport Woman Arrested Via Warrant for Westport Burglaries

Westport police reports for July 21-25

The following arrest information was provided by the Westport Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

Kathryn Ryan, 29, of Southport was arrested via warrant and charged with two counts of burglary and one count each of second degree larceny and fourth degree larceny on July 22. Police said Ryan was picked up in Fairfield and held at the Fairfield Police Department on two warrants from Westport. One warrant stems from a burglary that occurred in March 2011 on Greens Farms Road and another that occurred on Maple Avenue South. Ryan was released after posting bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 1.

Elise Tardif, 19, of Cherry Lane was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct on July 20. Police said Tardif was arrested after a verbal argument with her mother during which she threw a wine glass toward her mother. She was held on bond and transported to court the next day, July 21.

Robeiro Canola, 34, of Norwalk was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on July 21. Police said an officer on patrol saw Canola’s vehicle traveling westbound on Post Road East near the intersection of The Mews, weaving in and out of the left lane, crossing over the yellow lines, and entering the left eastbound lane several times. Police said once Canola was stopped, the officer noticed a distinct and pronounced odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the vehicle. He reportedly failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. Canola was also charged with failure to drive in proper lane, operating under suspension, and operating a motor vehicle in violation of license class. He was later released on a promise to appear in court.

Jeffrey Guadalupe, 30, of Bridgeport was arrested via warrant for failure to appear in court on July 22. According to police, Guadalupe turned himself in after learning of the warrant for his arrest. Police said the original charge was for a larceny that he failed to show up in court for. He was released after posting bond.

Dennis Sclafani, 56, of Cherry lane was arrested and charged with driving under the influence on July 22. According to police, Sclafani drove into the Fresh Market parking lot and approached two officers in an unmarked vehicle. The officers reportedly smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Sclafani’s breath and he was unsteady on his feet. When a marked police vehicle arrived, he was asked to perform the field sobriety tests, which he reportedly refused to do. Sclafani was also charged with following too closely. He posted bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 4.

Leslie McNulty, 19, of Fairfield was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of alcohol by a minor on July 25. Police said an officer on patrol saw McNulty’s car traveling north on Hillspoint Road in the area of Greens Farms Road, crossing over the double yellow lanes on two occasions. Police said after the officer stopped the vehicle, he could detect a distinct and pronounced odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the passenger compartment. Police said McNulty passed field sobriety tests — however after locating an alcoholic beverage in the vehicle, the vehicle was searched for additional contraband. Police said officers found ecstasy pills, a small amount of marijuana and a bong with marijuana residue inside the car. McNulty posted bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 4.
