Woman Drives Wrong Way in Westport, DUI Charge

arrested Julianna Pernal, 26, of Stamford at 8:49 p.m. Sunday and charged her with driving under the influence.
She failed field sobriety tests after police stopped her for speeding the wrong way through a parking lot and turning left from a center lane, police said.

According to police, she drove into the parking lot at the end of Railroad Place, passing a pair of “Do Not Enter” signs, exited the lot in the wrong direction and then turned left from a center lane on Franklin Street onto Charles Street.
After stopping her, police say Pernal exhibited signs of drunkenness.

She was released on $500 bond and scheduled to appear June 13 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.

A 63-year-old Milford man faces burglary and other charges after stealing and using an ex-girlfriend’s debit card, according to police.
Police charged William Watson with third-degree burglary from a motor vehicle, illegal use of a credit card and sixth-degree larceny.
According to police, he stole the card from his ex-girlfriend’s car and used it twice, withdrawing $300 total.
Watson was released on $15,000 bond and scheduled to appear June 7 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
