At 11:25 am this morning the Westport Fire Department arrived on the scene of a large tree that had fallen on a house at 3 Burr Farms Road, according to a news release.
Coleytown Engine 6, Truck 1, and the shift command car were dispatched after a neighbor noticed the tree on the one story home just in from Long Lots Road. Damage to the structure was limited to a couple of branches that had pierced the roof, one of which had come to rest above one of the occupant's beds. Firefighters entered the attic to check on the extent of damage to the roof and found it mostly intact.
A Building Inspector from the Westport Building Department was requested to the scene and determined that the structure was safe. The last remaining units cleared the scene at 11:48 a.m., according to the report.
