Fairfield Police Arrest Two Lingerie Thieves

Unusual arrests and investigations from the area.

Perhaps they were trying to get some holiday shopping out of the way -- for free.

Two men , an estimated $1,000 value, from the Fairfield Post Road lingerie shop earlier this week.

A  led police on a foot chase onto I-95, which ended in police discharging a Taser at the man.

The employee was apparently upset at a schedule change his manager mad, police said.

A former assistant freshman football coach at Staples High School in Westport was arrested Thursday for  to an adult website. The school administration began an investigation Tuesday and on Wednesday morning they informed police, who applied for an arrest warrant.

A 70-year-old man and a 67-year-old female were after police responded to a domestic disturbance. No injuries were reported. The two were married.

After a Darien resident told police that the 2.1-carat, pear-shaped diamond from a ring of hers had been  , town police arrested a technician from a pest-control service, and charged him with the theft.

Police had discovered that a similar incident had taken place in Stamford, and that the same man from the pest-control service was in both homes. Although the man had been told to stay in the basement of the Darien home when he did work there in May, a maid said he had briefly gone upstairs where the diamond was kept.

Darien Police say they noticed two males trying to break into the VCA Darien Animal Hospital from the roof early on Tuesday morning. Although a perimeter was established around the building, both suspects ran through it, police said.

During the search, an officer spotted two suspects running along I-95 North near exit 12. When the suspects spotted the officer, they " and jumped down an embankment," Darien Police Sgt. Jeremiah Marron said.

Zulu, the department's K-9, then led police on a second track from the shoulder of southbound I-95 to the top of a nearby rock formation, where police say they  found a 17-year-old Bronx boy and charged him with the attempted burglary. Police still want to find the person they say was with him.

Stamford police were called to deal with a father and a teenage son who were in  a heated argument because the son took his father's moped for a ride without permission.

The argument eventually escalated to the point where the father struck his son in the head with a flashlight, but the son did not suffer any injuries, and instead yelled at his father until his mother notified police.

A man with penchant for wearing a black or dark blue NY Yankee baseball hat, a dark brown hooded sweatshirt, dark brown baggy sweatpants, apparently likes robbing People's Bank branches in Greenwich.

In the second time in 11 days, a man wearing those clothes walked into the bank, handing a teller a note demanding money - at the Riverside branch at 1155 E. Putnam Ave. The robber is probably a bit red-faced as the dye pack in the bag the teller gave him, exploded.
