Two NY Men Charged with Using Fraudulent Credit Card in Westport

Police arrested the suspects on Friday.

Two Bronx, N.Y. men were arrested Friday after they allegedly attempted to purchase merchandise from Castle Wine & Spirits with a fraudulent credit card, police said.

Oswaldo Ponce, 24, and Javier Rodolfo Camillo, 22, were both charged with six counts of unlawful reproduction of a credit card, criminal attempt to commit sixth-degree larceny, illegal use of a credit card, and fifth-degree larceny, according to the arrest report.

On Friday, an employee at Castle Wine & Spirits reported to police that two men had attempted to use a fraudulent credit card to buy items and then fled the store in a vehicle.

Soon after the radio broadcast, the Fairfield Police Department reported that they found the suspects and the vehicle at Pequot Liquor Store in Fairfield, according to the report. At the time of the arrest, the two men were allegedly in possession of six fraudulent credit cards and proceeds from the crime.

Both Ponce and Camillo have been held in lieu of $20,000 bonds and are scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 2, 2013.
