Vehicle Flips onto I-95 Median Near Norwalk-Westport Line

No one was injured in the single-car accident, due to a distracted driver. Westport and Norwalk fire departments both responded.

A distracted motorist flipped a car onto the median between exits 17 and 16 of Interstate 95 before dawn, officials say.

No one was injured in the accident, which occurred at about 12:32 a.m., said Larry Conklin, assistant chief of the Westport Fire Department.

The motorist had been travelling northbound before rolling the car over, Conklin said. Officials from both the Westport and Norwalk fire departments responded, including a command car, rescue vehicle and engine.

“Westport firefighters returned to service at 12:48 a.m. and turned the scene over to Norwalk fire,” Conklin said.
