Victim Injured in I-95 Rollover Accident in Westport

The accident was between exits 17 & 18 in the northbound lane.

responded Sunday at about 3 p.m. to a reported motor vehicle accident rollover with an injury on Interstate 95 northbound, according to Assistant Fire Chief Robert Kepchar.

Arriving fire units found a Honda Civic on its roof in the left lane and the driver of the vehicle was out of the car. Firefighters evaluated him for injuries and turned him over to Westport EMS for further evaluation, but he refused transport to the hospital, Kepchar said.

Firefighters put down speedi-dri to prevent spilled liquids from going into the storm drain and prepared the vehicle for towing. State police controlled the traffic around the incident and opened all lanes at about 3:45 p.m. and the last fire unit left the scene at that same time, Kepchar said. State police are investigating the incident.
