Westport PD Arrest Driver for DUI, Motor Vehicle Charges

Westport police arrested the man after he failed a standard field sobriety test Saturday morning.

 

initiated a traffic stop after witnessing a driver travelling without his taillights illuminated on Riverside Avenue at about 1:15 a.m. Saturday, police said.

While speaking with the driver, the arresting officer smelled alcohol on his breath and noticed the driver had red, glassy eyes, police said.

The driver failed the field sobriety test and was taken into custody. He submitted to a breath test with the following results:  0.066 and 0.060, according to police.

Westport police charged Jeremiah Lamm, of 597 Westport Avenue., Norwalk, with DUI, illegal operation of a motor vehicle under suspension, insurance coverage fails minimum requirement and failure to have tail lights illuminated.

Lamm was released on a $300 cash bond and is due in Norwalk Superior Court August 10.
