Westport PD: Driver Unable to Take Breathalyzer, Arrested for DUI

Officers witnessed the driver make a u-turn and drive up an embankment early Friday morning, police said.

 

Westport police officers responded to the area of Wilton Road and Newtown Turnpike after a citizen reported that a driver was, “passed out behind the wheel of a Subaru,” police said. 

When officers located the Subaru at about 2 a.m. Friday, they witnessed the driver make a u-turn, drive up an embankment and then stop, according to an arrest report.

The officers approached the vehicle and noticed that the driver, later identified as 44-year-old Michelle Seibold, of Weston, had a "strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her breath," police said.

Seibold failed the field sobriety test and was taken into custody. She was unable to take the breath test properly because she could not follow directions, police said.

Seibold was released on a $500 cash-only bond. She is due in State Superior Court in Norwalk on February 21.
