Westport PD: Man Arrested on Warrant, Motor Vehicle Violations
During a traffic stop police determined that the driver, identified as Christopher Mahoney, 26, of West Haven, had an active warrant for his arrest.
The driver was stopped Monday afternoon for motor vehicle violations on the I-95 exit 18 southbound entrance ramp in Westport, police said.
During the traffic stop police determined that the driver, identified as Christopher Mahoney, 26, of West Haven, had an active warrant for failure to appear from the West Haven Police Department, according to the arrest report.

He was taken into custody and later released after posting a $750 surety bond for the criminal charge. He is due in State Superior Court in Milford March 1 for that charge, police said.
In total, Mahoney was charged with second-degree failure to appear, insurance coverage fails minimum requirement, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and failure to display plates, police said.

Mahoney posted a $250 cash bond for the motor vehicle charges. He is due in State Superior Court in Norwalk February 28 on those violations, police said.
