On Friday, with the help of the Norwalk Police Department, Westport police officers searched the first floor of 55 Winfield Street in Norwalk. There they interviewed a 19-year-old resident, Carlos Navarette, who had an outstanding arrest warrant for robbery from the Norwalk Police. He was arrested on that charge and remains in their custody. During the interview, he told police he was also involved in the Westport McDonald's robbery and revealed information about other suspects involved in the incident. Westport police have applied for an arrest warrant for Navarette on charges of robbery and larceny, according to a news release. It will be served once he is arraigned for his charge in Norwalk, said Detective Philip Restieri of the Westport Police Department.

The information received during Navarette's interview led police to the home of another Norwalk resident, Andrew C. Danzey of 315 Ely Avenue. Westport Police executed a search warrant there with the help of the Southwest Regional Emergency Response Team, of which the Westport Police Department is a member agency.

Although Danzey was not initially located, telephone contact was made with his family and he turned himself in to the Westport Police Department without incident Saturday. He was arrested on charges of robbery and larceny and is being held at the Westport Police Department on a $100,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 26.

Snyder was arrested Saturday night by Westport police officers on charges of robbery and larceny at his Fairfield home, located at 37 Baros Street. He is being held at the Westport Police Department on a $200,000 bond.

Police declined to say if the weapons used in the McDonald's robbery have been recovered.

Detectives are also investigating a possible link between some of the suspects in the McDonald's incident and the robbery that occurred behind the Westport Weston YMCA Dec. 23. The investigation is continuing into both robberies and further information will be released when it is available, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Philip Restieri at the Westport Police Department Detective Bureau, 203-341-6025.
