Westport Police Reports: May 26 - June 1

Four arrest reports.

Rory O'Neill, 16 Baker Ave.,  Westport

Charge: Risk of Injury to a Minor

Bond: $10,000 cash bond

Court Date: May 7, 2010

Police said O'Neill, 38, turned herself in on a warrant on May 27th stemming from an incident that occurred on May 18th at 4:50 pm. A citizen called in a check on the welfare complaint of a woman passed out in a vehicle with a child in the back seat parked behind the YMCA .

Officers said they found O'Neill in the driver's seat, incoherent and with an odor of alcohol on her breath, and suspected she was intoxicated. The child was cared for at the scene by officers and O'Neill was transported to Norwalk Hospital.

Police subsequently obtained a search warrant to learn what O'Neill's blood alcohol content was at the hospital, which allegedly was .341. Officers then obtained an arrest warrant  to charge her with risk of injury to a minor.

Walter Perdomo, 120 Morgan St., Stamford

Date of Arrest: May 29, 1:56 a.m.

Charges: Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, Failure to Drive in the Proper Lane, Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Signal

Bond: $1,000.00

Court Date: June 9, 2010

Police said Perdomo, 46, was observed going through a red light at the intersection of Post Rd East and Cedar Road and then through another red light at the intersection of Post Rd East and the Sherwood Island Connector.

As he did this, Perdomo was allegedly traveling on the wrong side of the median, traveling south in the northbound lane on the Connector. When stopped, he had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, police said, and exhibited signs of being intoxicated. Police said he failed a roadside sobriety tests and was taken into custody. Perdomo posted bond and was released.

Joseph Carusone, 10 Sue Terr., Westport

Date of Arrest: May 29, 11:10 p.m.

Charge: Permitting a Minor to Possess Alcohol

Bond: None 

Infraction Answer Date: June 6 ,2010

Officers said they responded at 4 a.m. to a report of a party with underage drinking occurring. The investigation revealed that several youths had been drinking at the residence and Carusone,21, was aware that underage drinking was taking place.

Christopher Leo age 25 of Westport

Date of Arrest: May 31, 3 p.m.

Charges: Disorderly Conduct, Threatening, Interfering with an Emergency Call

Bond: $10,000.00

Court Date: June 1, 2010

Police said they responded to 4 Jonathan La. on a check on the welfare call. The investigation allegedly revealed that Leo, 25, was arguing with his girlfriend, and she locked herself in the bathroom, he broke the bathroom door. Police said when she told him she was going to call the police, he tried to prevent her from calling 911.

Leo was taken into custody and was subsequently released on bond with a court date of Tuesday at state Superior Court in Norwalk.
