Westport Resident Charged With Trying to Illegally Obtain Oxycontin, Ritalin

Bradley H. Jack, of North Avenue, was arrested and charged with second-degree forgery and forgery of a prescription on Friday after he allegedly tried to obtain Oxycontin and Ritalin from the CVS pharmacy at the corner of Black Rock Turnpike and Jennings Road in Fairfield using a fake prescription.

Bradley is reportedly owner of the most expensive residential property in Fairfield  — a 20-acre waterfront estate on Sasco Hill Road in Fairfield, which he owns with his ex-wife, Karin Jack. The two are reportedly separated and Jack currently lives in Westport.

Fairfield Police said Jack presented a pharmacist at the CVS with a prescription for 12 Oxycontin pills and nine Ritalin pills. The pharmacist determined the prescription was photocopied and also determined the prescription was fraudulent by contacting the doctor listed as authorizing the prescription, police said. The pharmacist told officers that the signature of the doctor on the prescription was not that of the doctor identified on the prescription, police said.

The pharmacist, after accepting the prescription, told Jack to come back in an hour to pick up the prescription police said. Jack returned, and the pharmacist told him to wait, police said. But Jack left before police officers arrived, and CVS employees gave police a description of the man and the license plate number on the Range Rover that Jack drove off in, police said.

A check revealed that the license plate came back to a residence on North Avenue in Westport, which is where Jack is currently staying, police said. An internal records check on the license plate came back to the house on Sasco Hill Road, police said.

Police contacted Jack, and when he came to the Police Department to be questioned at about 4:27 p.m. Friday, he matched the physical description given by the pharmacist, including his clothing, police said. Jack told officers he knew what he did was wrong, according to the police report.

Land records identify the Sasco Hill Road house as being owned by both Bradley and Karin Jack. Police said Karin Jack told officers her ex-husband is living in Westport.

The Jacks' house on Sasco Hill Road was assessed in Fairfield’s recent town-wide revaluation at $24.2 million, an increase of $1 million over the prior assessment of $23.2 million. The new assessment gives the Jacks' house a market value of $34.6 million.

Karin Jack is appealing the new assessment in Bridgeport Superior Court.

Jack was released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court July 11, police said.
