Westport Woman Charged After Trying To Burn Husband's Property

Westport police officers responded to a domestic dispute between between a husband and wife at about 8 p.m. on September 10, police said.

 

During the dispute Clarisse Levine allegedly stated she was going to burn some of her husband's property, police said. 

Officers found several matches on the kitchen floor as well as a rolled up bunch of papers at the bottom the basement staircase. The paper was partially burnt and a burnt match was laying on the floor next to it, according to police.

 charged 68-year-old Clarisse Levine, also of 306 Saugatuck Avenue, with disorderly conduct and two counts of second-degree reckless endangerment for the reckless behavior that could have caused physical injury to her mother who was sleeping upstairs and her husband, Steven, police said. Police also charged Stephen Levine, 67, of 306 Saugatuck Avenue, Westport, with disorderly conduct.

She was released after posting $2,500 bond.
