Woman Arrested for Landscape Decor Thefts

Arrests from April 15-16.

The following arrest information was provided by the Westport Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

An alleged crime spree spread over two days ended in the arrest of Westport woman with an eye for landscape decorations.

Police say it started when Durri Fishkind, 49, of Lincoln Street, was caught red-handed stealing plastic flowers from Top This Frozen Yogurt on 14 Post Road E. According to police, a passing officer saw Durri Fishkind, 49, of Lincoln Street, stealing the plastic flowers from the planters in front of the yogurt store on April 14. She was charged with sixth-degree larceny and merely released on a promise to appear in state Superior Court in Norwalk on April 21.

The next day, police responded to a larceny at the condos at 19 Ludlow Rd. Several concrete garden decorations and planters valued at $1,035 were reported stolen. The officer remembered arrested Fishkind for a similar alleged crime and knew that she lived nearby. At her home, officers found the stolen goods.

For the second arrest, Fishkind’s bail was set at $1,000 and she’s scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Norwalk on April 25. She was charged with fourth-degree and sixth-degree larceny.
