Woman Charged with DUI in Westport
The 25-year-old suspect was arrested early Saturday.
A Wilton woman was charged with driving under the influence in Westport early Saturday.Police were initially called to the parking lot of Balducci's on Post Road East for a report of a suspicious vehicle. As the responding officer was leaving the scene, another vehicle pulled into the lot and stopped in front of the officer.
The officer noted he waited approximately 30 seconds behind the vehicle before turning on his car's take down and spot lights. The officer got out of his vehicle and approached the driver's side door of the other car and shined his flashlight at the driver, who reportedly did not look up or roll down her window for two minutes.
According to the report, the officer detected the odor of alcohol on the driver's breath and asked her how much she had to drink that night. The driver reportedly said she had two drinks and, when asked where she was coming from, she said, "Wilton." She also reportedly said she was going back to Wilton.
The driver was asked to conduct three field sobriety tests, which she failed, according to the report. She was arrested and taken to police headquarters and her car was towed.
