Woman Charged With Writing $7,600 in Bad Checks to Westport Business

Westport police charged the woman after she turned herself in on an active arrest warrant.

 

The woman wrote two checks with insufficient funds to Mitchells of Westport, police said.

The first check was for $4,128 and the other was for $3,552, according to police.

Westport police charged 43-year-old Julie Aliapoulios, of New Canaan, with two counts of issuing a bad check after she turned herself in on a warrant Tuesday, police said.

Aliapoulios was released after posting two $5,000 surety bonds. She is due in Norwalk Superior Court August 30.
