Worker Hospitalized After Fall Into Swimming Pool

The man reportedly fell from scaffolding while constructing the pool at a Westport residence.

An unidentified man was transported to the hospital Thursday afternoon for non life-threatening injuries after he fell from scaffolding into a swimming pool under construction.

Westport fire, police and Emergency Medical Services came to the aid of the man at 12:47 p.m. on May 1, at a residence on Bonnie Brook Road. The worker fell off scaffolding while using a “shotcrete hose” to build up the sides of the swimming pool with a cement mix, according to Assistant Fire Chief Larry Conklin.

Emergency personnel stabilized the worker and treated his immediate injuries on scene before he was transported to Norwalk Hospital.
