Veterans Day Event at Town Hall

Westport Veterans Council President William Vornkahl has announced Veterans Day ceremonies will be held Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. in the Town Hall Auditorium. “Veterans Day is a time to recognize and thank the men and women of our armed forces,” First Selectman Gordon Joseloff said in a posting on the town's Web site.  “I invite all residents to join me on Wednesday and honor our veterans.”   Organizations participating in the ceremonies will be the Westport Community Band, the Westport Police Department Honor Guard, members of the Joseph J. Clinton Post 399 Veterans of Foreign Wars, representatives of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 399, and members of the August Mathias Post 63 American Legion. Town Hall offices will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day.  The Board of Education offices will be open.
