Here's how Westport voted:
In the Republican primary for state representative of the 136th district, Nitzy Cohen beat her opponent Steve Rubin, the party's endorsed candidate, by 249 votes. With all districts reporting, Cohen earned 830 votes (705 machine ballots and 125 absentee ones) while Rubin earned 581 votes (526 machine ballots and 55 absentee ones). In May, when the Republicans held a caucus, Rubin beat Cohen by 11 votes.

In the Republican primary race for governor, businessman Tom Foley won the election. In Westport, he earned 881 votes, compared to 491 votes for Lt. Gov. Mike Fedele and 139 for executive Oz Griebel.
In the Democratic primary for governor, former Stamford mayor Dan Malloy beat businessman Ned Lamont. Among Westport votes, Malloy earned 934 votes while Lamont received 742 votes.
