Town Attorney to Draft New RTM Rules

First Selectman Gordon Joseloff has asked for suggested rules the RTM should consider when reviewing land-use decisions.

First Selectman Gordon F. Joseloff issued the following statement after a meeting among town officials today in regard to the Planning and Zoning Commission's decision to file a lawsuit against the Representative Town Meeting.

"As a result of today's meeting, I have asked the Town Attorney's Office to draft suggested rules for the Representative Town Meeting (RTM) to consider when it reviews Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) actions," Joseloff's statement reads. "I hope the RTM will consider the proposals in an expedited manner to fully ensure that the rights of all Westporters are respected when such appeals are made."

The meeting organized by Joseloff included Planning and Zoning Director Larry Bradley, Town Attorney Ira Bloom, Assistant Town Attorney Gail Kelly, RTM moderator Hadley Rose and P&Z Commission chairman Ron Corwin.
