Westport RTM Member Named Republican Nominee for State Rep

Steven Rubin, who has been a member of the Representative Town Meeting (RTM) since 1993, will face former RTM member and incumbent Democrat Jonathan Steinberg, who is running for his second term.

Stephen Rubin has accepted the nomination (by unanimous vote) of the Westport Republican Town Committee for State Representative of the 136th District.

"With the help of the voters," Rubin said, "This seat in Hartford that was Republican for so long will once again be a seat that will represent smart spending, no new taxation, common sense leadership and representation for all Westporters."

Stephen is known by Westporters for over a dozen years as that "nice guy with the white hair" at the Parks and Recreation Office at Longshore. As Jo Fuchs Luscombe noted in her nomination speech, Stephen has the history of working with so many organizations in town, the list goes on and on.

"With the support of many Westport residents from both sides of the aisle, I expect to receive votes from Republicans, Democrats and Unaffiliated voters on November 6th. Following the caucus, Stephen and his wife Toni, invited supporters to a local restaurant for  some celebration time.
