CLASP Homes to Host 9th Annual Taste of Westport

CLASP Homes in Westport is holding its 9th annual A Taste of Westport on May 2. Sample featured items from some of Westport's best restaurants and bid on a multitude of items in the silent auction

Come. Enjoy featured dishes from the menus of many of the area’s outstanding restaurants at Taste of Westport at the Westport Inn on Thursday, May 2, at 6:00 p.m.

Start with oysters and clams  from Westport Aquaculture. Move on to samplings from some of Westport’s favorite restaurants – Matsu Sushi, Blue Lemon, Dressing Room, and DaPietro’s – and from such newcomers as Aux Delices, Pane e Bene, Moja, Rive Bistro, Saugatuck Craft Butchery and the Westport Inn’s own Red Hen.

Try a bit of Connecticut-made Onyx Moonshine, of Herradura Blanco tequila, as well as Beaver Beer, wines from Greens Farms Spirits and Black Bear Wines – and Crystal Rock Water.

Finish up with sweets from Michele’s Pies and dark, rich cappuccino from Greenwich Staffing.

You’ll be entertained by the easy listening arrangements of the Carruthers Brothers Trio. Your emcee for the evening will be Tad Lemire, host of the Tad Show.

As you  dine, stop and bid on silent auction items – an Eli Manning autographed Super Bowl XLVI football, a youth clinic at Yankee Stadium with Curtis Granderson, a Swatch “Full Blooded” watch, two tickets to The Late Show with David Letterman, tickets for four to the Giants–Jets pre-season game, a selection of premium wines, many clothing, jewelry and accessory items and an array of personal products and services.

All proceeds help the 31 year old CLASP Homes, Inc. provide housing, support services and opportunities for adults with autism and other developmental disabilities.

And be sure to register for the iPad drawing presented by the evening’s Title Sponsor, Lexus of Westport. Their General Manager, JR Buchbinder, leads an all new team committed to simplifying purchasing or leasing a new or pre-owned Lexus. Adding their support to the event, Buchbinder told CLASP's President Tracy Flood “We are pleased to join with CLASP to once again make Taste of Westport a huge success.”

Ms. Flood calls the evening “a great opportunity to greet our friends and supporters and to introduce ourselves to new friends.”

She added that evenings like this “help CLASP strengthen our ability to meet the needs of the area’s growing developmentally disabled population. It helps us expand our housing capacity, add to our professional staff and broaden our ability to provide care – for some, 24 hours a day, for others, regular but infrequent home visits.”

Tickets for Taste of Westport are $75 before the evening, $80 at the door. They can be purchased by calling 203.226.7895 ext. 144 or at CLASP Homes, 246 Post Road East, Westport, or online at www.tasteofwestport.com
