Children's Earth Day Celebration

Connecticut Friends School invites the public to attend a free, family-friendly Earth Day Fair at its White Barn campus in Norwalk. The highlight of the event is an interactive, educational and entertaining Animal Embassy presentation. Children will discover how important each animal is to its habitat as they get eyeball-to-eyeball with snakes, chinchillas, frogs, lizards, and more. Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI) volunteers will teach outdoor education basics like knot tying, tent set up, and how to “leave no trace” through child-oriented games. In addition, Brother Kojo Bey of Sounds of Afrika will lead African Drumming for all ages.

Connecticut Friends School middle school students will oversee outdoor fun including:

  • earth-friendly crafts
  • old-fashioned carnival games with an eco-twist like Trashketball
  • nature walks
  • scavenger hunts and more.

Children from preschool through middle school will find age-appropriate activities.
