Join Environmental Studies Teacher and Westport Town Farm Steward and Program Director Michael Aitkenhead for a workshop on Planning a vegetable garden and starting seeds indoors. The workshop will be held on Saturday, March 10th from 9:30am – 12pm at the Wakeman Town Farm, 134 Cross Highway, Westport. Open to all ages, this is the first of in a series of ‘Seed to Harvest’ workshops at the farm. In this workshop, participants will learn everything they need to know in order to start a backyard organic vegetable garden. In addition to teaching participants to start their own seedlings indoors, they will be able to bring home their very own tray of seeds to get their home garden started. Specific topics covered include: garden types & designs, vegetable selection, creating a planting schedule, creating a garden layout, and starting seeds indoors.
