Show of Support - Fire Prevention Feb 25th @ 10AM

This Saturday, February 25, the Westport Fire Department in conjunction with Elahi Children’s Yoga will hold “A Show Of Support” family fire safety program at 10:00am at the Christ & Holy Trinity Church. 55 Myrtle Ave. in Westport.

This one hour event is aimed to refresh everyone’s skills on family fire safety and fire prevention strategies, with a particular emphasis on empowering special needs families. The recent tragic fire in Stamford illustrates how critical fire safety planning is. This program will capitalize on the lessons learned from that fire, and will provide specific recommendations for “Best Practices” that all families can use.

At 10:00am, the Church will open it doors. There will be a short presentation by the Fire Marshal’s office, followed by hands-on demonstrations of the lastest types of smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. Home escape planning strategies will be taught, with a focus on family members whose mobility may be compromised.

The program will conclude with an “anything goes” Q&A session: ask anything about fire or fire safety. Then, Engine Co. 2 will stop by for a visit so that all participants can meet some of Westport’s Professional Firefighters and get an up-close look at the Town’s newest fire pumper. Photographs are encouraged.

Please join us for this valuable morning of family fire safety. For further information, contact Kami Evans by email at kami@elahiyoga.com.
