Westport Historical Society presents: Water: The Fiber of Life

Learn about the importance of water to the health of the environment and our bodies, Wednesday, July 18 when water expert Gil Kernan of Westport gives a lecture at the Westport Historical Society on “Water: The Fiber of Life.”

Kernan, head of the Westport-based water technology company CleanTech PMG, will speak from noon to 1:30 in the Westport Historical Society’s Betty and Ralph Sheffer Gallery, and his talk will complement the gallery’s current exhibit, “The Sound & the Saugatuck and Watershed Moments.” Kernan’s theme, “quality hydration,” will stress the importance of maintaining good health by consuming high-quality water that has minerals, is slightly alkaline and has a positive pH level.

The Westport Historical Society’s “Sound & Saugatuck” exhibit shows how the town’s position at the mouth of the river has shaped its history. The exhibit takes visitors on a journey from the upper reaches of the Saugatuck to the Sound, guided by the hand-painted murals enhanced by beautiful color photography.
