Staples Students’ Musical to Raise Funds for Juvenile Diabetes Research

The show will be staged on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 19, 20 and 21, with all three shows starting at 7:30 p.m., at Toquet Hall.

What do a couple of 16 year-olds typically do during summer vacation? Go to the beach? Hang out at each other’s house? Go to the mall? Go to Starbuck’s? Produce a musical theatre event at ?

Wait, what was that last one?

Michelle Pauker and Clay Singer have too much talent, too much heart, too much drive and too much sense of purpose to be categorized as “typical.” These two juniors are spending this summer producing a musical called “The Last Five Years” with all proceeds going to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The show will be staged on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 19, 20 and 21, with all three shows starting at 7:30 p.m.

The Toquet Hall Teen Center is located at 62 Post Rd. East, Westport. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door.

The musical, written by Jason Robert Brown, is being produced and directed by Michelle Pauker and Clay Singer, with assistance from Kevin Slater and Marge French. The pit conductor is Jonathan Lakeland and the technical directors are Brianna Reedy and Mathew Kresch.
