Folds of Honor Challenge at Rolling Hills Country Club

Wilton, CT:  Rolling Hills Country Club is honored to host the first annual “Folds of Honor Challenge” on Monday, June 18th, 2012.

The “Folds of Honor Challenge” is a premium event that supports the Folds of Honor Foundation and its mission to provide educational scholarships for children and spouses of military service men and women killed or disabled while serving our great nation.

The “Folds of Honor Challenge” event includes a golf tournament with an Opening Ceremony with Military Color Guard, followed by a Dinner and Ceremony with Folds of Honor Keynote Speakers. The five player teams will consist of a military veteran golfer, a PGA Professional, and three Folds of Honor donors. All proceeds from this event will directly benefit military families and support the Folds of Honor mission.

Speakers at the “Folds of Honor Challenge” Ceremony will include Major Ed Pulido, a combat veteran who lost his left leg in an ambush in Iraq and VP, Public Relations and Military Affairs for the Folds of Honor and Tony Biata, PGA Professional and Director of Patriot Day Golf for the Folds of Honor. Families who have been recipients of Folds of Honor scholarships will also attend the dinner and participate in a special coin ceremony for the military veterans and donors.

Folds of Honor has held other golf tournaments nationally to support its mission but this will be the first Folds of Honor event in Fairfield County, with Rolling Hills Country Club and Folds of Honor planning to make it an annual tournament. Folds of Honor is planning to use the June 18th event at Rolling Hills as a “best practices” model for other clubs across the nation to use as a template for their Folds of Honor fundraising efforts.
