Live Band to Play After-Thanksgiving Spinning Class at JoyRide Cycling Studio

There’s nothing more motivating than a live band setting the soundtrack to a favorite workout class!  JoyRide Cycling Studio’s in-house band, ThirdGear, will play live music during a special, after-Thanksgiving, 75-minute indoor cycling class called “CycleLive” on Saturday, November 26 at 4:30 p.m.  Located in Westport’s newest health and wellness complex at 1200 Post Road East, JoyRide is Fairfield County’s only fitness boutique dedicated to indoor cycling.

Back by popular demand, ThirdGear, led by Scott Williams (Fairfield, Conn.) and accompanied by band members Charles Roth (Stamford, Conn.) and Gene Santini (Newtown, Conn.), will play a range of favorite rock tunes  to motivate riders as they accomplish a high-intensity cardiovascular workout.  JoyRide’s Creative Director and Lead Instructor Rhodie Lorenz (Westport, Conn.) will lead the class on challenging climbs and sprints, designed to burn extra calories consumed on Thanksgiving.

Known for its cult following and dramatic results, indoor cycling has revolutionized the exercise world.  At JoyRide, Lorenz and her team of  instructors expertly choreograph workouts set to heart-pumping and motivating music playlists.  Synchronizing the pedal speed with the music tempo enables riders to connect with music and create rhythm on the bike.

“Music is a key ingredient to a rocking spinning class,” says Lorenz.  “Music taps into emotion, evokes memories, and is a powerful motivator in physical performance.  A tempo, an instrument, a voice, a lyric, and beat can speak to us and drive us to exert ourselves to push a little harder and work a little longer.”

"ThirdGear accomplishes this and kicks it up a notch by bringing the energy of live music into the studio and right into your pedal stroke,” says Amy Hochhauser, who co-owns JoyRide with Lorenz and Debbie Katz, all of Westport.  “It's a concert and workout rolled into one!"

JoyRide's exclusive training method combines core elements of Pilates with top-notch indoor cycling to maximize cardiovascular benefits and burn calories and fat.  Riders improve fitness, posture, and mental acuity with the help of specially trained JoyRide instructors who focus on fluidity and body biomechanics during each interval cycling session.

JoyRide classes are geared toward all ages, genders and fitness levels - from the seasoned athlete in top shape to someone who has just started or re-entered an exercise program.  While riders can go at their own pace, the group fitness environment makes the experience come alive.  Enthusiastic riders and instructors infuse an indoor cycling class with energy that takes the experience from just exercise to a fun, high voltage and more challenging pace.

The special cost for the 75-minute CycleLive class is $30.  Spots fill up quickly, so riders should reserve their bikes early, online.  For more information and reservations, please visit JoyRide’s web site at joyridewestport.com.  For more information about booking ThirdGear, please visit their web site, www.fakeidband.net.
