The second annual Thunder on the Sound, Meals for Wheels motorcycle ride to benefit the New Covenant House of Hospitality (Stamford's only soup kitchen) and the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County

The second annual Thunder on the Sound, Meals for Wheels motorcycle ride to benefit the New Covenant House of Hospitality (Stamford's only soup kitchen) and the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County is set to kick off Sept. 26. Registration for bikers will be held 8:30 -9:30 a.m.  at the Commuter Parking Lot at Exit 35 of the Merritt Parkway. Non-riders are also welcome to join the bikers at the finishing point, the Ponus Yacht Club at 41 Bateman Way in Stamford beginning at 11 a.m. where antique cars will be on display and Sharkey and the Unknowns will serve up live entertainment. A barbecue, auction and raffles are also planned. The price for admission to the barbeque and ride is $30 for adults and $10 for children age 12 and under. The rain date for Thunder on the Sound, Meals for Wheels is Oct. 3.  Additional information can be found at www.thunderonthesound.org.
