GFA Boys Basketball Defeats Chase, 60-51

Seventh-grader Tremont Waters and Hunter Eggers each score 13 points for Dragons

Seventh-grader Tremont Waters and Greenwich's Hunter Eggers each scored 13 points Monday as the Greens Farms Academy boys basketball team defeated Chase Collegiate of Waterbury 60-51 in a non-league contest.

GFA improved to 5-3 while Chase dropped to 3-4. According to GFA coach Doug Scott, the Dragons played this game to improve their New England postseason tournament invitational credentials.  GFA and Chase are in the same New England class.

Monday's contest afforded Scott on opportunity to use all 12 players on his roster.

Greenwich's Sean Obi added 12 points and 14 rebounds for the Dragons, his 31st consecutive double-double.

Darien's Patrick Ryan contributed 10 points while Greenwich's Matt Tate handed out 10 assists for the Dragons, who held a 30-23 lead at the intermission.

Riley Streit paced Chase with 10 points, the only player in double figures for the hosts.
