GFA Boys Defeat St. Luke's 69-54 In League Regular-Season Finale

Dragons improve to 16-3 overall and 11-3 in FAA ply, setting a school record for league wins

The Greens Farms Academy boys basketball team concluded FAA play Friday with a 69-54 win over St. Luke's in Westport.

Westport's Brien Comey scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Dragons, who improved to 16-3 overall and 11-3 in the FAA following their 13th consecutive victory.

GFA set a school record for league wins on Senior Night and is guaranteed of at least a No. 2 seed for the FAA tournament. If Hamden Hall, loses one of its three remaining FAA games, then GFA would be regular-season co-champions.

"Our seniors played really well on Senior Night," GFA coach Doug Scott said. "Brien Comey’s 20 and 12 night was what you dream a Senior Night performance to be. (Fairfield's) Will Pavlis and (Darien's) Wills Rooney both played as well as they have all season."

Greenwich's Sean Obi had 18 points and 18 rebounds for the Dragons while Stamford's Zach Baines grabbed 11 boards. Greenwich's Matt Tate handed out nine assists.

Playing without Greenwich's Hunter Eggers, who was sidelined with an injury, the Dragons built a 32-26 halftime lead before slowing pulling away in the second half.

"The crowd turnout was truly very exciting," Scott added. "It takes a lot of enthusiasm for a small school to pack the stands like that. And we really appreciate being able look across the court and see everyone here enjoying the game.

Jackson Prince scored 19 points and Adam Connolly added 11 for St. Luke's, which dropped to 1-17 and 0-11
