"We didn’t make any fancy changes at halftime," GFA coach Doug Scott said. "We just had a young team mature before our eyes in the second half. Our execution rate went up to a very high level, and we just seemed to have an answer for whatever Hamden Hall hit us with."
Ranked No. 1 in New England Prep Schools, Class C by MaxPreps.com., Hamden Hall is the defending New England and FAA champions and has everyone back from last year’s squad.

Seventh-grader Tremont Waters of New Haven scored a career-high 21 points and Westport's Brien Comey added 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for GFA.
"Defensively, they had to over-attend to Sean in low post, and chase Tremont out at the perimeter," Scott said. "That left gaps in the middle that Brien Comey just tore up in a big. big way.”
Obi’s 29 rebounds makes him No. 1 in the nation with an average of 21.1 per game.
"I’m glad there were so many college scouts here tonight," Scott said, "because when I tell someone that one of my kids had 29 rebounds, another had 13 assists and our seventh-h grader scored 21 points against the best team in New England, I’m going to need some supporting witnesses.”
GFA's Hunter Eggers of Greenwich missed his second straight game with a foot injury.
Darren Payen scored 15 points to lead Hamden Hall while Greg Brown and Victor Joshua each added 13.
