In the majors division,  the Raiders blanked the Jaguars 2-0, and the Rangers swept a best two-of-three series from the Tigers, 10-1 and 6-2, to take the minors division championship.

The town will now choose the All-Star teams that will compete in the various district tournaments.

In the majors division, this begins the summer-long process that culminates with the Little League World Series that is set for Aug. 18-28 in Williamsport.

Westport National and Westport American will compete in the District Two tournament, which begins later this month, along with teams from Fairfield National and American, Monroe, Stratford American and National and Trumbull American and National.

The winner of the district tournament advances to the sectionals, which is followed by the state tournament and New England regionals. The regionals again will be in Bristol from Aug. 4-14,with the eight regional winners from around the country advancing to Williamsport.

Last year, Fairfield American became the 17th team from Connecticut -- and second in three years - to play in the Little World Series. Shelton National made it in 2008.
