The Staples boys basketball team has earned another early-season crack at FCIAC rival Ridgefield.
Luke Yeager scored 17 points and Gabe Seidman added 16 as the Wreckers rallied from a 15-point deficit in the first half to defeat Weston 53-44 Tuesday in the Newtown holiday tournament.
The Wreckers advanced to Wednesday's final (8 p.m.) against Ridgefield, which defeated host Newtown 73-55 in Tuesday first game.

Ridgefield edged Staples 66-63 in the season opener for both teams.
On Tuesday, Weston opened the game with a 10-0 run and stretched its lead to 21-6 midway through the second period.

Staples responded with a 19-2 burst to take a two-point lead in the third quarter.
The Wreckers overcame a double-double by Cole Roseman, who paced the Trojans with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Staples (3-1) has won three in a row since the defeat at Ridgefield two weeks ago.
