Staples Football Defeats Danbury, 31-12
Nick Kelly scores two touchdowns for Wreckers, who improved to 4-0
Nick Kelly rushed for a pair of touchdowns Saturday as the Staples football handled Danbury 31-12 in Westport to remain unbeaten.
The Wreckers, who had a bye last week, improved to 4-0 after jumping out to a 21-0 halftime lead. Danbury, which lost to Darien, another undefeated team last week, dropped to 2-3.
Joey Zelkowitz, who rushed for 110 yards, gave Staples a 7-0 lead with a 39-yard touchdown run with a minute remaining in the first quarter.

The Wreckers extended their lead on Kelly's 4-yard TD run, then made it 21-0 at the half on a 1-yard keeper by quarterback Jack Massie.
After a scoreless third quarter, the Hatters pulled within 21-6 on a 9-yard TD run by James Harrington.

After Kelly's 9-yard TD burst, Harrington returned the ensuing kickoff 88 yards for his ninth touchdown in the last three games.
Robbie Wolf capped the scoring for the Wreckers with a 23-yard field goal.
