Sean Obi scored 20 points and grabbed 19 rebounds Saturday as the boys basketball team defeated Brunswick 54-45 to improve to 2-1.
Hunter Eggers and seventh-grader Tremont Watters, who also dished out eight assists, each had nine points for the Dragons. Brien Comey pulled down 11 rebounds for GFA.

The Dragons' Patrick Ryan played smothering defense on Brunswick’s returning All-FAA shooter Devin Mehra, holding him to only two points. Comey also was strong vs. Ivy League prospect, 6-foot-9 Billy Murphy
Brunswick only had 13 points at the half, but rallied from a 14-pomt halftime deficit to take a brief 42-41 lead. That comeback seemed to zap them, however, as GFA finished with a 13-3 spurt.

Brunswick went with a couple of zone defense schemes early, but Waters, Eggers and Chritian Papic shot the hosts out of it.
That forced Brunswick into playing man-to-man, which allowed Obi to have success against Brunswick’s other 6-foot-9 player, Bradley Seaton
“We had a bad loss on Thursday night, got outplayed and outcoached by Rye Country Day on Thursday," GFA coach Doug Scott said. "This was a nice reversal."
“They made a terrific second half run at us. I was pleased with the way that we stood right back up, and retook control of the game.”
