The boys basketball team will be looking to build on Tuesday's huge 78-74 double overtime victory against Bridgeport Central when the Wreckers visit New Canaan on Thursday (7 p.m.).
Staples rallied from a 15-point deficit to snap a two-game losing streak and improve to 3-4. The Wreckers overcame 33 turnovers, erasing a 44-29 deficit.

Darryle Wiggins converted a layup with seven seconds left in regulation to force overtime at 55-55.
In the first extra period, the Hilltoppers rallied from a 60-55 deficit to force a second extra period. Central's Tyler Robert Ancrum hit a shot at the buzzer to tie the game at 67-67.

Peter Rankowitz led the Wreckers with 26 points and nine rebounds. Michael Argosh scored 18 points and James Frusciante added 16 for Staples.
Wiggins was the fourth player in double figures for Staples with 10 points and also grabbed nine rebounds.

The Staples-Weston-Shelton boys hockey team remained undefeated with a 4-3 victory over Suffield-Grandby-Windsor Locks on Wednesday at the Milford Ice Pavilion.
Eric Zurmuehle, Matt Weisgerber, Sean Stewart and Forrest Savage each scored goals for the Wreckers, who improved to 5-0.
Mike Thompson scored two goals and Ryan Kertanis added one for SGWL, which dropped to 4-4.
The Wreckers prevailed despite getting outshot by a 49-21 margin.Riley Macdonald made 46 saves for Staples-Weston-Shelton.
