Photo Contest: Is Your Dog The Top Dog?

Everyone knows their dog is the best dog.

Now, Westport Patch is giving you the chance to prove it.

This month, in conjunction with dog-license renewals in the state, Patch is launching its Top Dog contest.

First, we want you to go and get your dog officially licensed with Patricia Strauss (as required by law) — and then we want you to enter our contest. “Licensing your dog verifies that rabies immunization is up to date, as the dog owner must present a copy of the pet’s rabies certificate when obtaining a license,” Strauss said.

Here’s how it works:

Beginning June 11, upload your favorite photo of your dog to this article (it’s super easy — just make sure you are a registered user first). In the caption, tell us your dog’s name and what makes him or her so special. One photo per owner.

Between June 11 and June 21, our users will vote in the comments on which dog is Westport's Top Dog. So make sure you hit that social media campaign trail early!

On June 21, we will announce the winner of Westport Patch's Top Dog contest. And we'll also have a prize for the Top Dog, too!

To vote: Look for the number in the top right corner of the photo and refer to that in the comments. PLEASE JUST UPLOAD ONE PHOTO PER DOG—PICK YOUR CUTEST!
